Question: Sail On reposted as a Shakespearean Sonnet!. Does it work!?
Sail On
by Elaine P

A summer wind whipped o’er the shining Bay,
Together we had sailed 'til Sol retired,
We teased the fickle waves ‘til end of day,
Then home to rest before our glowing fire!.

The two of us then sang our secret songs,
Of love and of our hopes for future life,
We dreamed of resting here where we belong,
Our hearts and minds forever man and wife!.

We spoke of love with fingers intertwined,
And huddled close to drink to days like this,
We raised our glasses filled with luscious wine
And moved together with a gentle kiss!.

So now, my darling, do you wait for me
Within our timeless home, Eternity!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

The burning question oh sonnet lady!.!.!.which century do you wish to reside in!? Well done and timeless!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It certainly does!.!.!.!.but I loved the concluding two lines of your previous effort - doing what lovers do (can't remember it exactly) but I know it added a little piquancy to a comfy fireside chair sort of love!.

Do you ever eat or sleep or go shopping or walk the dog or read the paper or watch tv!? If you do, I don't know how you can repeatedly come up with gems like this!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

How sweet, and yet melancholy at the same time, especially the last two lines!. Your form is absolutely perfect!. I shall now contemplate giving up sonnets!. I was not able to read the first "Sail On", but I am certain that this does that poetic masterpiece more than justice!. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece with us!. And yes, I will continue to "sail on!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

Thinking of changing my name to "One Eyed Jack" for a few days!. Wearing sunglasses inside to see the screen with one eye, lol!. Gonna be fun!. Does that say "addiction"!? Beautiful sonnet, my dear, you do these so well!.
