Question: When you wer nine years old, did you ever have to come to terms with something!?
They untangled him
and laid him down, a leaf
on his jowl stained
red with the
memory of life
bruising through!.
He remembers
the blazing pink sticks
next to his boot
and the dirt piled to his waist and the
red patches humming
in the hot
stale sun!. He
remembers
the flies biting
and the sting of
dying on him like
a skin-jacket
and the too green grass
humming and
the stick they
halved
and tied, dead red
still dripping
as it puddled the
fly food constant!.
The cross of crude
waste wood
was there a month later
but he sees the red
still
and he always
remembers
best when summer
comes humming and old
dogs fill patches of
yard with un-green bones
and tangled leaves
and death blows it’s
breath to a boy
in a red shirt
waiting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

At nine, under the stick halved tied, lay buried my innocence!.
That was the year my father told me I had no right to tell him
"no" when he took me to his bed
and taught me that my sole purpose in life
was to meet the needs of others
despite my own destruction!.

Does one ever "come to terms" with that!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes I had to come to terms with things like death when I was little but it was too scary for me so I put it back and forgot it until I was able to have closure!. God helped me with dreams that gave me closure and peace!. My grandmother always prayed for all of us and I think it helps with hard things and makes them easier although my parents did not talk to me about how much help I could get from God!. My grandmother lived miles away!. The prayers still helped!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I had to come with terms that dad was either in a good mood or a bad mood there wasn't any in between!. If he was in a bad mood you got the hell out of his way, If he was in a good mood then that was the time to ask for something you wanted!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is really great!. To answer your question yes, I had to come to terms from a very young age that grown ups can do some very sick things to little kids, and that as an adult that hurt little kid still hasn't healed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

my grand father passed away when i was nineWww@QuestionHome@Com

I was six and my Calico got hit by a car!. Dad took me to my Grandparents farm to bury her!. He handed me a paper bag full of my kitty and he grabbed the shovel and we headed for the unused chicken coop!. I peaked into the bag and she was staring right back at me!. I screamed "Daddy she's still alive, we can't bury her!"!. He explained to me that she was still gone!.
If only that was the worst thing to happen to me as a kid!. This one was very vivid in my memory!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Always love your poems!. They are filled with thoughtful insight!. I had to come to terms with the fact that my family had just pretty much lost everything in a major hurricane!. I was younger than 9 years old, but I still recall the day my dad almost died as a tree hit the house and pinned him under a cabinet!. His back was forever damaged!. We lost the piano I was just learning to play, and many other things that were becoming a part of my young life!.!.The storm rocked my world big time!.!. But in the end we all survived and that's what mattered most!. And who would have ever imagined that many years later I, as an adult, would lose my own home during a major snow/ice storm!. But again, I'm here, my pets and I survived that day, and life goes on!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
