The man on
television kept saying the words,
and I believed them,
but they became vague
a bit sundry through the
ears, and I took
them for what they were - truth
from the ground up!. “God created
everything” he said!. I didn’t need
to write it down, I
could remember that line, nice
and simple, a summation
without explanation, and I turned the
channel to a John Wayne
western, and I thought, yes,
God created John Wayne, and all the
villains in the Batman movies, and
He created
Clyde Barrow,
the underground railroad,
that cousin of yours
that can’t quit
drinking,
Ted Bundy,
The Mall of America,
open toed shoes, the color orange,
caramel coated apples, stoplights,
dead fish,
little Orphan Annie,
poison ivy, and
priests that
can’t keep their f*u*cking
hands off
our
children, and
me!.
