I've seen Red Kites in the sky
Swooping, screaming
Diving, conniving
Trying to steal a march
On lesser birds!.
Like miniature eagles,
Showing pride and supremacy
Magnificent and free
But, in truth, fed and sheltered
in a sanctuary!.

In North Wales - they are basically solitary hunters, but as an endangered species they are being helped to become re-established

There is a red tailed hawk and a golden eagle living in my area!. I have seen them both in the rapid checkout line!. They get rabbits, rat, and an occassional squirrel, but I watched the golden eagle snag a wayward bantum rooster that had wondered to close!. Bet he thought it tasted like chicken!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, a yeary hawk makes it nest in the woods, and gives
birth to little ones, I hear then scream for food and later for freedom! Sometimes the hawk struts the edge of the woods
as if it draws a property line, without fear of my presence
outside!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
