Ok, let's see what we can do to help:

A narrative poem at its most basic is a poem that tells a story!. They can be short, long, simple, complex, rhyme, be in free verse, anything, just as long as it tells a story!. Some famous narrative poems include, "Casey at Bat", Homer's "The Odyssey", "Beowulf", and "The Cremation of Sam McGee" by Robert Service!.

A lyric poem is a song-like poem mainly used to express thoughts or feelings coming from an individual!.

A ballad is like a narrative poem that tells a story but often takes a rhyming form and can probably be sung!. "Casey at Bat" is also a ballad!.

A folk song can be thought of as a song written by and for the "common people", the average joe!. These types of songs were made popular by the likes of Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan!.

A limerick is generally a five-line poem that follows a strict form and rhyme scheme!. They're usually funny, witty, or obscene!. You know, like "There once was a man from Nantucket!.!.!."

Phew, getting there!.!.!.

An ode is a type of poem that usually praises a person, thing, or animal!. A couple of famous odes include, "Ode to a Nightingale" by John Keats and "Ode to the West Wind" by Percy by Shelley!.

An elegy is a poem normally used to mourn the dead!. A famous elegy is "O Captain! My Captain!" by Walt Whitman (he was mourning the death of Abraham Lincoln)!.
