I was never one for words
but since you mention I did reach
into that shrub that burned
with glory

glory that shined beneath
my veil!.
They fell as dead
whimpering beneath the pillar

shied away as I stretched out
to cradle them
they didn’t understand
I had become more than a man

They could not bear to see
to hear the words spoken from thunder
They asked for my simple
words instead

They asked for a desert tongue
parched these last forty years
They asked for the earth to swallow
and the mountains to cover

For yes, my hands
to re-carve the words
left shattered
the law that would guide
and condemn

The law marked between
my stutters, my calluses
the bush that still sparks
the glory of the fading windWww@QuestionHome@Com

This poem leaves me in a lost sense!. The imagery you've presented doesn't really help me understand!. It might be too personally inset for me to understand where you are coming from!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
