Question: Do you want to buy some oats!?
No Oats for this Steed

There awaiting this boy of nine
my steed, my Pegasus, my own!
Eyes gleaming, I was gloating proud!.
Regal would be my stature upon this steed!

The saddle seat of special design
with black and white motif!.
Padded too for lasting comfort
and oh… so high up it was!.

My steed’s lines were classic!
Rounded nose with silvered mane
flowing lines of symmetry, sublime!.
Massive its size for a boy of nine!.

Now son, be careful as you clutch
as I reached half off my seat to touch!.
You have twenty six horses here
and four gears… plus reverse!

Ah, my steed…Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your ending brought me a wonderful laugh of memories
of teaching my nephew to drive in 1950 Phew!
Thank God for drivers Edu!. by the time my son came along
without a clutch!
From the first word to the end a marvelous poem, Bravo!!!!

I shall share this with my late husband's cousin, who recently sold his 900 acre family farm, He bought his first 40 out of
high school in early 1950's, still in greif of the sale bitter/sweet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I didn't see that coming!. It made me laugh (of course, if I'd paid more attention to the title perhaps I might have guessed)
And it would have helped if I hadn't forgotten that Pegasus was the winged one!.

Last line of second verse - a suggestion -
Perfection (and!?)so complete!.
I lost this answer under a layer of other answers - and here it is!. Good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is so good! Even though your steed was a tractor, it echoes the feelings that I had when I got my first two-wheeled bike, and also when I got my driver's license!. (Sad to say though, that my Poetic License has been suspended by the Board of Directors!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like the poem but my steed John Deere D, I think that is it's name!.
The big iron shoes
dig deep into the earth!.
In granny he walks slow,
in the shallow water,
I dip to keep him cool!.

If you are near my age, you will know my steed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
