Although he is certainly popular in many circles I just do not enjoy most of the works of Edgar Allan Poe!. Ironically he struggled financially trying to make it as a writer, and didn't become really famous until after his death!. I've always found his life story somewhat interesting, but his work doesn't appeal to me !.I think the depression he lived with spurred on many of his morbid thoughts and creativity though!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not a big fan of poetry, frankly, but since you gave the option of writers !. !. !.

I loathe Nathaniel Hawthorne and Herman Melville!. So screamingly dull, dry, and unengaging!. ["Moby Dick" IS a great story -- but it's boringly rendered in the writing!.]

Oh, and if you want ghastly poetry, dear Buk, seek out Mr!. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow!. Or John Greenleaf Whittier -- I'm actually descended from him, but that doesn't mean I like his stuff, though I do admire his anti-abolition work!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like the poetry of Philip Larkin but I heartedly disliked the man - a bigoted small minded librarian - with apologies to all you lovely librarians out there!.

Edit - oh, yes!. I'm not keen on what I've seen so far of Emily Dickinson (although I've only had access to her work through the homework help page- perhaps she wrote good stuff and I've missed it)Www@QuestionHome@Com

"Agatha Christi "novels drive me nuts,so much nit picky details,I lose the gist, but then I'm more into innuendo, suggestive and flagrantly wild "out there" books!.
now I can't remember the authors name,sigh,blond moment,again,lol !Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not particularly well read honey!. Can I please be on the Buk Show!? I need to feel better!. Mornin darlin!. ? Oh hells bells I just realized we weren't at home!. You know I'm not supposed to leave p/s!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, not really!. Even if it's not good poetry I still read it just to see where it's going!. Then if i don't like it I just won't read that particular poets writings!. :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

Hi Buk,
I don't hate him, but I'm tired of Robert Frost!. His work is often mandatory reading/analyzing in beginners classes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

nope, but I don't have one I love adore or cherish either although Wonder and Timinator have expressed their poetic abilities these days in P&S!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I know I'm going to hell for this, but Bob Dylan is about as useful as a screendoor on a submarine, to me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
