Question: What do you think of this poem by emily dickinson!?
MANY TIMES I THOUGHT
by Emily Dickinson

I many times thought peace had come
When peace was far away,
As wrecked men deem they sight the land
When far at sea they stay!.

And struggle slacker, but to prove,
As hopelessly as I,
That many the fictitious shores
Before the harbor lie!.

what do you think of this!?
what do think she's trying to say!?
whats the tone!?
who is the speaker!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

What I get from this poem is that it's about disillusionment- she conjures images of soldiers faced with seemingly endless fighting, and the suffering it's causing them, and repeatedly thinking it's coming to an end, only to realize that it isn't!. In my view, however, this can be applied to disappointment and heartbreak in general!. Thus concludes my two cents' worth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
