There’s few solo parts for trombone,
Brass tones in support of the melody,
What tricks can you play!?
Kind sir…you can slur…
Enough, enough already!.

Cold silver lip-reed’s a rigid mouthpiece,
Spit valve, half the time, far out of reach,
Your taste for oil will grow,
And slide…gliding…
You’ll blow!.

A Liepzig trademark still polished,
Through three wars your brass is untarnished,
You’ve escorted heroes through triumphal arches,
Played many a Dirge…
…and Funeral Marches!.

We're going to have an entire orchestra on Mars!. I'll play the triangle; I've never had much talent for music!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

With my secret vice (rhyming) I must say the last verse won me over - but until then I wasn't seeing the scene too clearly - I have no knowledge of musical instruments, but that is my failing not yours!. The piano I saw so clearly - but I think that was because it's description concentrated mainly on the exterior!.!.!.!.and even some-one as non-musical as me has seen a piano!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Having played trombone, your literal description is well said!. Even one in a support role is still an integral part of something as you also inferred!.

Now if you like slurs on your bone try "Trombone's Toboggan" You did use the spit valve after that!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Why does this have such a sting of reality, yet an underlying theme is ghosting through these words!.!.!.now I see it, now I don't!.!.!.!.to this humble person, 'Concertmaster' is a double meaning!.!.!.something darker than a chipper Robert Howard!
Done 'double good!.'

I LIKE 'Concertmaster'!!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
