Question: Poem - I Don't Like Clowns - Would You Consider This Prose Or Something Else!?
I don't like clowns!.
They scare me!.
Why do they cover
their faces with
kabuki makeup!?
Or are they all
Japanese actors!?

It doesn't matter
whether they wear
a grin or a frown!.
Both are grotesque
and ugly caricatures!.
Where is the
humor in this!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

While not a technician, I would say prose in a poetic structure!. It almost seems like you intended it since your talent can easily spot excess words to remove!. As a side note, clowns are the most feared creature to young kids!. Now kabuki clowns!.!.!.that would be years of expensive theraphy sessions to remedy!. Excellent work, whatever you wish to call it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure it truly qualifies as a poem for me, altho' the 'Are they all Japanese actors!?' went some way towards it!.

I am not an expert on poetry - but since I have given up the fight to retain rhyme in poetry (in fact I have grown totally to love free verse) I do insist that something then must lift the words above the mundane!. The unrhymed poems must have interesting language, thoughtful phrasing, and something unusual to say!.
But, having said all that - I do like this, especially as it expresses something I have been saying since I was a small child, frightened by my one visit to a circus!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If this is prose, then I am definitely a terrifyingly prosy person!. No, I find this a poetic complaint about the demons that we are allowing into our lives and calling it humorous!. Wow!.!.!.quite a metaphor you have here!. We allow something in, seemingly harmless under the beguiling guise of humor and slowly, insidiously, it takes over our lives and makes us fear it!. Not only is this true for clowns, but for other things, money, government, religion!.!.!.my dear I do believe you have accomplished a poem, a work in which myriad depths can be reached!. Congratulations!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

very interesting one!.!.!.!.!.!.sweet, simple and expressed with ease!.!.!.!.and almost every child will love this one!.!.!.because they are at first terrified by the appearance of clowns!.!.!.rather than being made to break into an innocent laughter!.!.!.and even when they grow up, they keep that scary notion i hope!.!.!.after all, 'child is the father of man' as per the words of william wordsworth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have heard others say that but I never had that fear!. I have several fears, which I try to face some almost daily!. If I don't face them they grow and it becomes harder!. The poem I like, quite good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It doesn't have the attributes of a pure poem!. If you were to write this in a sentence structure, then that's what you get, a sentence!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

An interesting poem!. Clowns are very scary creatures, for we know they are caricatures!. I have never found humor in clowns!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't mind a happy cute clown, but when they are made up to be scary like in that Stephen King movie that I can't remember the name of!.!.!.then they are scary!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You have attached a cleverness to the phobias of many!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
