Question: Do you consider yourself a harsh critique or a mild one!?

A good critic is honest without being cruel; point out mistakes, inspire improvement, but don't offer praise where praise is not due!. Too many critics try to be milktoast or tyranical, while not really offering anything in the way of suggestions on how to improve!.!.!.and not being able to write a decent poem themselves!. I'd like to consider myself a "good critic", rather than a "harsh" critic!.!.!.although some readers might disagree!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I critique my own poems harshly, but I find it hard to do so with other people's poems!. I don't tear it to pieces, but I do give suggestions of things to work on!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am also a poet!. I have found over the years that I have become more critical of my work and others!. As I hone my craft the fat is more easily trimmed!. So yes, I am a harsh critic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
