Indeed, short 'n sweet!
The sense of impending gloom is succinctly suggested by your smart word choice: falling snow "loading" my 'heart!.' loading is as tiring and uncomfortable as heart is warm and vivacious!
But it is clearly the worried, "shadows" calling that gives the reader chilling creeps more than the speaker! Some slimy ghoul deviously lies in wait !. !. !. !. to pounce!
