Position:Home>Poetry> I have not spoken alone in some time. What should I say to myself?

Question:*****
Leemy Lonne
by TD Euwaite

I have a friend with no telephone
No i-thing, no e-thing, no anything
His name is Leemy Lonne
He still employs the U.S. Mail…

When the question cannot be asked
I know Mr. Lonne will bone up and astound
After a trip to the archives.

He reads the paper then tells me
What the words used to mean,
Fishfood fed in the mainstream
when there was one right, one left…

Leemy Lonne is a sort of modern Bartleby. But is it possible to be a "modern Bartleby"?

I like it, but "would prefer not to"!

I find this slightly random. However, I like it because it's quirky. :)

i like it. althought the very last line could be better i think. the rest of it i can make sense of, if i think a moment and then it's very amusing, but the last line went by me.

Sounds like your alter-ego, I think we all have one. Thank you for sharing and very interesting.

Thank you for thought and I think it is good work on your part. Thanks again for sharing. Love, honey

"When there WAS one right, one left"
Those were the days, my friend...

For awhile I nicknamed myself
Lea Mia Lone...and I meant that from the bottom of my toenails.

It's wonderful TD.....
and there is one classic thing about this poem...
"No i-thing, no e-thing, no nothing".......Marvellous! Simply Marvellous.....this line can be an applied anywhere on any spot in this century...and beyond! really great!

This is interesting. I'm still wondering about the last line but I generally like the poem.

Very nice.
There was much joy in simpler times....

Still employ paper cups and string, when string's too short, I do converse with myself...very enlightening. Long live the U.S. Mail and the Pony Express.
