Friends poem... way better poet then me =)?

Question:i hide in the bright white spotlight
i hold myself together with the mask
i always hold up; life's just one great masquerade
you don't see me, but we dance.
i am an actress, but am i real?
i won't allow how i really feel.
i am the character, you can't bother me
i'm blind to all offstage.
romeo, you can call me juliet.
your love has left me broken
and with this dagger i declare
the words i've left unspoken
i'll take my life here on the stage
so i won't want to tonight.
smile for the camera
say everything's alright

This is a masterpiece. I agree. She has shown the actress, the play, the part she is.

Along with the mask she wears as she hides in bright lights, she hides who she really is. Can anyone truly know her --

I know a lot about masks and call my self a chameleon for years -- just because I don't know who I will be. It has to do with things from my childhood and my survival mechanism.

The artistry with which she writes is probably shown in her performance as well.

i bet you could...sounds like you know it too, you just have blocks trying to do it. get really drunk, find a slut, make love, make her feel speacial (buy her a gift, talk about feelings, make her feel good in life for once) and then sit at the keyboard. let the life in you come pouring out.

And I bet you just are being modest, but in truth I know that you can write a good poem! Everyone has it inside them if they just give it their best shot. Poems are an expression of people's feelings on paper. You can write a poem about anything that you feel. Just make it real, something that everyone can relate to, like this, and it will be loved by all.

i like your friends poem its like......profound...and forlorn....two words i use constantly...but i enjoyed reading it
