Position:Home>Poetry> Who writes the verses in birthday cards etc.?

Question:I could sit all day churning out that kind of verse.
Or do they now have a computer programme that does it for them?
I've just advised some-one to explore whether there is any money in it, and now wonder if I've given them a bum steer
(can I say bum steer on answers.yahoo?)

You can actually get a job in that area... I have been offered one before! There is money in it but I am not sure how much... But look at all of us, we sit around and write sappy lines all the time, what would be the difference except we'd be getting paid for it!

No, you did not give him a bum steer! LOL

the people who are hired to write usually people with experience in poetry or writing

There are lots of different cards. Some are written with a few lines others are written with poems of the past. Sometimes the poet is on the card somewhere. As for making money from it, not known. Check out greeting card poems and opportunties to write or something like that on a search engine

Hallmark Cards is based right down the street. I applied years ago, but didn't get the job. They have a test you can take. TD
