Question:They warned me to stay away
so that i wouldn't get hurt again
but i dont believe thats what you wanna see
me losing you over some things ive heard.

because i dont
and i wont
give in to what people say
ill live my life my own way

because those others
dont see the real you
as i do

so back off you others
and let me be
because ive finally found
someone who makes me feel free
i dont want to be caught in a net
like a fish in the sea
i want to be like a bird in the sky
free to go where he pleases
to follow my dreams
wherever they may lead me
in to your arms?
into the sea?
i dont know

give me time and you will see
that im not all cracked up to be
what you thought of me

im a different kind of girl
with a new kind of attitude
new style
new looks

i think the theme is about the power of friendship and how you choose your own actions. it's great, you could use more metaphors though (: good use of similies though

is this about rumors? like "your" friend [or anybody's friend] that spreads a rumor about you, but you refused to believe?
