Position:Home>Poetry> What do you hate about this poem?

Question:I struggled for a while.
Grabbing both sides,
My hands, lacking purchase
slipped on the curved surface.
Pulling down, kickout out,
letting out a shout of
Defiance and determination.
I vanquished the enemy!
Expelling it in a frenzy
of temporary glee.

Now where did I put the toilet paper again?

I hated the memory of constipation it invoked. A horrible state, and obviously you agree. (My hands, lacking puchase--the visual of hanging on to the sides of the bowl as you bore down, I cracked up!)

A perfect Friday-afternoon poem.

the word "lacking purchase" you make everything sound materialist. i personally didnt like your poem sorry

The colonic for the soul. Hate is that the mechanical aspects of this act give way to deeper meaning. Crap descends as thoughts arise. Wonderful. Was Rodin doing the same?

It brought back memories of too much revelry. Or did I read the poem incorrectly?

The rhyming took some of the deep-ness away from it. I don't feel I understood the full meaning.

Do you have fun like this every day or is this exceptional?

Your poem is very good. Take away the toilet paper reference and the what do you hate about it. Get it copy written and think about trying to get in touch with some publshers.

Only thing to hate is the smell that lingers after it's gone, but in time, that too will fade.

I doo doo not hate this. I actually like it!!!

Constipation. Nothing worse than a painful movement. thats what I hate about it.
