Position:Home>Poetry> A poem about Robert Johnson and the crossroads. Do you like it.?

Question:"cuttin heads"

In Yazoo City Mississippi,
a crossroads out of town.,
There lives a little legend,
regarding old man scratch.

The story goes that you,
can sell your soul to hell.
A man named Robert Johnson,
sold his to play the blues.

He sold his soul to play guitar,
the best there'd ever been.
His guitar could sing the blues,
like no one had ever seen.

Twenty seven songs he wrote,
thats all the man had got.
His soul now belonged,
to old man scratch

There is a little challenge,
It's called "Cuttin Heads"
Satan's best guitarist,
in a battle against you.

Rules are very simple,
just play a guitar riff.
Satans man copies it,
back and forth you go.

Contests finally over,
when one cannot repeat.
Satan's man has never lost,
everyone sometimes gets beat..

Standing O!

I love a good history lesson, teacher!!It's cool that you have so many different styles and subjects while remaining evident as yourself when you write...

I love Robert Johnson...nice tribute.

its good as a poem but
very good story

Well written and a good tale. You even managed to bring the devil into it - lol.

It seems you don't know Charlie Daniels' "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." Satan does NOT always win. Check it out.

I am standing with Semper,

Bravo!

I like it...Satan's men lost some times....LOl
