Position:Home>Poetry> Even for experienced fishermen, the sea can be a fearful master.???

Question:The month of March puffed out her cheeks,
As I scanned for trawlers now gone three weeks.
With my lips all savored by her salted breathe
She white caped the waves adding to my stress.

"Beagle" and "Deep Sea" are only just two
Of the six that set sail in the year of `52.
Bothgordon turned out to fair them well
The sea was calm with but a light swell.

The trip was short, just sixty short miles
To the banks of Sturgul and Flinty Isles.
Josh, but twelve, was one of the crew
Of the "McCauley" her skipper H. McBrew.

It's eerie that I have written an ocean poem as well and I didn't know that you had written one too. But I won't put it up here. It pales in comparison to yours.

WOW. That doesn't cover the power in your poetry.

Your rhymes are perfect, and each line draws the reader into the poem -- into the waters -- into the losses.

Publish this -- it is excellent.

Exceptional account of a tragedy. I enjoyed reading and living the tale.

A dynamic and very effective poem recounting a terrible tragedy. I was very moved by the pathos of the story and mesmerized by the imagery. Thank you.

This is good. I almost started putting the "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" music to this. My compliments.
