Position:Home>Poetry> Does a ballad poem have rhyme?

Question:A ballad is a narrative poem (a poem which tells a story) and is usually meant to be sung. More often than not, their authors make use of iambic pentameter, or another structured meter. As far as rhymes go,I'm not sure. Back in high school, we were supposed to write one, and all I remember the teacher saying is that it had to tell a story.

It can but it doesnt have to. A ballad is really just a poem that is meant to be sung.
