Question Home

Position:Home>Poetry> An Ode to three delightful poets?

Question:If Granny had not asked it,
Elaine had not replied.
And Neonman who mixed the mess
Had chosen just to hide.

Persevere Preserves would be good as lost!
My muffins I would have to toss.
The café’ would have lost a boss
(And I’d be dead inside.)

But look! A whole new world has opened!
A word, just heaven sent!
Now I shall not be moping…
Enjambment! Enjambment!

(If I can keep the elves
From washing themselves
In the jars of Enjambment!
To say nothing of their socks
I‘ll be plumb pleased!)

From the Kitchens in Bayard Station, perched at the edge of the world...&Thanks to N., G.J. & E.

I enjoyed it but there seem to be a lot of inside jokes. Elves and the other fairy folks are a bit tricky.

im sorry what was the question??? it was a nice poem btw. I love poetry i write some myself...

Very nice Ode to some nice poets and i really liked it Nice

O.M.G. Laughter is a cliche for my mood right now. I am blessed for you have persevered and did so rightfully choose to open your cafe with muffins... preserves up! Granny, Elaine and I will be there, enjambment pending for lines do tend to over run and a tippled Granny may quote some urchin street slang so sweet.

It's a very nice poem

Them Damn Elves

just read a wonderful ode....really nice work!!
reminds me Keats'
'magic casements opening on the foam of perilous seas
in faery lands forlorn'

You are right you know, you certainly do come out with some quirky material. Nice though, yes very nice.

Someone on this site recently asked if we take mundane experiences and turn them into poetry. I wanted to answer, "are there any other kinds of experiences?" You take a word and turn it into an ode! I am in awe of some of the work you do and of the work of other, previously unknown poets. Thank you, from an island on the east coast of the North American continent.

The poets you picked I must agree
And am terribly humbled you mentioned me.
It's been a blast,most fun for awhile
On my old wrinkled face, you brought a smile.

The elves in my garden have suspiciously vanished
From my piece of property, they are banished.
So Bayard, keep an eye, they stole my clock
Along with an old un-matched sock.

Flying kites, ex-changing socks is up their alley,
Gobbling up all the perserves from the cafe galley.
They'll strike again, they are heading your way.
Don't know the hour, or even the day.

Well, I can think of some other very nice poets but these three are gems to be truthful. I hold them in high esteem. I think highly of you too!

I`m a new poet. I`m trying too catch up. I have a long way too
go. Everyday I read all of your work. Congrats on the book.Stars and thumbs up everywhere. Thank you all for
getting me started on a new adventure.
