Position:Home>Poetry> My burden...?

Question:Walking alone in this life
Watching everything fall before the test of time
Seeing my hands covered in blood over things I’ve done.
Carrying the weight of the world
I look beside me and find
No one there to help shear the weight
I am a fighter, I am a leader
But even leaders can be broken
The howls of a lonely wolf
The cries of the cold wind
The moans of the harsh night
I finally understand what they are saying
They are there to give me comfort
Till the day me and death are both trying to find out
Who will blink first?

You and death are staring each other down...don't blink.

You have talent. But at some point I hope to find that you've written a happy one. You are too young to be sad so much of the time.

This is excellent:

Till the day me and death are both trying to find out
Who will blink first?

It kinda sounds like you and death are in a battle of survival. Of who will be defeated and who will win. That's an excellent thought. However, i also think that it's better to say "death and me" rather than "me and death".
All in all...such a powerful ending of an existentialist poem. Reminds me of Jean Paul Sartre's "Being and Nothingness".

Wow this is outstanding and you have explained pain and sadness so well .Like the howls of a lone wolf 'the cries of a cold wind the moans of a harsh night.Excellent and one of the best ones you have written of course i love them all ' as your a great poet ...It will get easier in time .. not easier i guess just not so sharp,

I really like the ending of this poem. I hope you don't blink! Really great poem.
