Question:Letting Go
Funny how you never
really give up on your dreams,
and yet they seem to move farther away,
with every passing year.

It’s kind of like
burning your nose on the toaster,
because you have cigarettes, but no matches,
and yet, when you finally remember to buy the matches,
you can’t afford the cigarettes.

It’s all a matter of timing,
like waiting twenty-two months
for you to come home,
and then leaving
when you arrive…

It's saying that, even when you know it's time to let go of a dream and move on, you never can, not entirely.

i think it means that we keep chasing our dreams but with time they seem to get father away from you. and then the rest i have no clue
