Position:Home>Poetry> Has your child ever taken a bath with a Sabertooth Cat?

Question:Living Museum

All the Earth a nursery...
Babies, vines, insects...
Life.
All the Earth a cemetery...
Bones shallow, bones deep.

Water...quiet. Raging.
Water...ever-holding the Past.

When Johnny or Susie want
Cute bath toys....
Ask them what kind...
T-Rex, cavemen, Trilobites,
Cleopatra, Velociraptor.....

They laugh! "Aw, you can't
Do that!" Giggling.
Tell them, "I drew your
Bathwater...how about a
Plain ole
Sabertooth?"

A Bath? What a concept! I have not had one in over a year. The concept of having a faucet with cool clear water that you can even drink is such a luxury.

Does any one really need a tub?
Does any one want to scrub?
Why bother with such a waste
Don't even bother with tooth paste

I cry out, Dry Clean is the way
For me, I just powder every day.
No towels hang limp and wet
to be that moldy scent you bet.

Brown water is a treat,
Except when brushing teeth
It can be gritty and Lord, the taste
Cannot be remedied with paste.

So keep you tub to get yourselves clean
In this waste I'll stick with Dry Clean

you just don't know when you sooooo good....

Love the first two stanzas. Last two confuse me.

Once, our old Siamese cat (who had to watch each and every bath) leaned over the tub...and did fall in. Exited quite rapidly.
(So did my son.) Clever!

It`s very interesting

my grand son would want a t-rex in his water. loves them.

No More "Yellow Rubber Ducky....??

Very Nice....!!

Nice poem
I like how it talks about
part of life
of insects
It reminds me of nature.
It also talks about the cemetery
because of bones that are shallow deep
The next part is about the quiet water
that is raging.

Felix jumped in the pool once. I missed it, Sheryl was there...

The evolution of playthings is a wonderful subject.

TD

my son wants a Curious George bubble blower. He would like just about anything. He is not scared of monsters . He thinks it is funny.

...or perhaps and arrowhead made of stone
a necklace made from beads and bone

a bonnet made from eagle feathers
clothing made from buffalo leather

listen to songs the medicine woman sings
treasure all the simple things

ARRRRGHHHH!!!!!!

Late again..............

Good one......

???
?????

They swim with the guppies
And play with the puppies
Splish splash
What was that crash....

The cats out of his cage
And in with the kids
Guppies and puppies jump out with rage
Shaking and flopping like squids

Tiger by the tail...they scream out with glee
Look Mom....he's in with meeee
Tigers had enuff
Of this fun stuff

Time to eat and play
As he surveys the room
And notices the guppies where they lay
For them it's certain doom

Puppies scurry for the door
Slipping and sliding on the floor
The cats new prey
Managed to get away

Mom steps in and the cat is blocked
Smack with the broom
The cat limps away shocked
Back to it's room........
Where the cage is double locked

The kids...now crying
All that's left are fish bones
Their bath has been very trying
As they shriek and scream in high pitched tones

Mommy, mommy..that's a bad cat
Please...get rid of the brat
Now I'm off to the SPCA
To give our big bad kitty away
