Position:Home>Poetry> Is my poem from England?

Question:*****
Upon Foreign Shores
by TD Euwaite

I let the air out of the sails
And anchored close to shore
In my dingy
I landed

A greeting party met me there
I did no know their language
I pretended
To care

They were curious about my potable island
I told them, “It’s called a ship!”
I talked loudly
To seem important

Well, you might be...then again, your map reading may have been a tad off.

sounds more like fiji.

Until I read your edit, I was wondering how one could drink an island. Sounds more like the island of Manhattan.

I liked it a lot. Where ever it is,I`m there.

Why know no?

Sounds awkward to me.

If you have some fresh water aboard, it would be a potable island. Talk loudly and carry a small dingy. Well . . . I dunno. If Yosemite Sam was there, he'd say, "Waal . . . I talk LOUDER and carry an even BIGGER stick."
