Question Home

Position:Home>Poetry> Will coffee (and perchance elves) await me in the morning?

Question:Cafe' will be open, friends invited in.
Poets sitting in their chairs,
Snoozing like a bunch of bears.
Coffee's perking in the back,
(Elves awaiting the attack.)
Hope I'm conscious, and awake...
Coffee, PLEASE...for goodness sake!

In the morning I have to have a
cuppa java.
Thank God that now I'm not a smokah
the only fumes are from the Mocha.
But if, perchance, I drink a latte,
In two minutes time, I'm on the patte.
This makes no sense, I must be daffy,
I've yet to drink my matutinal caffee.

cute

it doesn't suck

this poem is extraordinary! it explains how tred people can be even when they don't want to. they take coffee as like a life saver. it is very good how you use elves with coffee. i'm not a peom expert or something but bravo! this is great poetry!

Coffee just for you , it will be waiting for you and the second cup will also

I like it ........Whimsical

I doubt the elves will reappear
They got into my Guiness beer
But if by chance they come your way
I hope at your place they will stay.

That is a cute poem
it talks about the friends
of poetry that gather in
there.
To have their coffee
I am sure the coffee will be there
for you..

Love it...I'll have a cup with ya.

I am absolutely addicted to coffee, though I can't have any now, since my mouth has just been operated on. I like this rhyme, it's catchy.

it's a good one.....liked it a lot...and it reminds me of the coffee houses of the 18th century, where poets used to assemble...like dr. samuel johnson, alexander pope, essayists like richard steele, joseph addison and so on...good work!

It's 5:41am right now. I need coofffeee! Good morning to ya!

Thank you for the offer. I'll be there just as soon as I can unglue my eyes.

Elves, Your Ladyship, do not indulge in coffee. That is a drug limited to humans (fortunately - I couldn't bare to share it with Elves).
Elves, however, do make a non-addictive beverage from the fruit of Ceratonia siliqua, which I can confirm is very agreeable, as I have shared a hot cup with and Elf or two in my time.

Cheers, and make sure it's Fair Trade.

I am having my morning coffee. I survived the elves. Lovely poem.

I love it. Do you know I am sounding more like a groupie every day!

Snoozing like a bunch of bears - this made me laugh, especially the use of bunch for bears instead of the boring old 'crowd' or summat.
Ta for cheerfulness

Very Good...

I "felt" the place...

I like it...keep up the good work...
