Lines and Stanzas?

--? Purpose: To connect ideas and appearance.

Subject & Theme: Anything.

Tone: Often playful or lighthearted.

Rhyme & Rhythm: Does not necessarily rhyme. Usually does not have regular rhythm.

Lines & Stanzas: The arrangement of lines and groups of lines depends entirely on the shape the poet wishes to make.

A concrete poem, if I remember correctly, is a poem that is shaped like the subject it is about. For example, if you write about ice cream, then the poem will resemble ice cream. The poem itself does not have to rhyme, but has to be about or describe the subject. No lines or stanzas, since the poem is in a shape.

Hope this helps!

Purpose: To have the poem shape or look as it sounds and means.
Subject/Theme: Anything
Tone: Anything
Rhyme/Rhythm: optional
Lines/Stanzas: None, concrete poems can be lines that can go upside down and in circles.
