Honest opinion on this poem (actually more of a song)?

Question:Why is Everything falling apart again?
You told me to reach for my dreams
But when every dream shatters
(now my life’s in tatters)
I realize it’s not how it seems

I remember when I looked you in the eye
(what did you say?)
And I remember why I started to cry
(what did you say)
Pretend this wasn’t all a lie

I gave too much
Find now it’s all worthless
Why am I here, left
With nothing but a reminiscent song

I thought I was so strong
(Now I realize it’s not what it seems)
But I was like Batman on:
Secret Mission to Save Everything
(too bad I’m missing the wings)

And now I am falling
I see, I thought I was so great
I guess the world’s set me straight
’cause now I am crawling

Thought I was supposed to say
That everything is all okay
But now that everything’s falling apart
I should stop pretending

I wouldn’t tell you to your face
Not by text or on the phone
But I feel so helpless when I’m all alone
(What will you say?)

Well I’ll just close my eyes
Pretend that I’m with you
(I hear what you say)
And in this new world
Everything is all okay

Yeah it's more of a song.
You have some really good lines in there.
But some real cliche' lines also.
If you changed some of the wording, meter, etc it would be a pretty good poem. (not sure what you're goin for)
