You were in 6th grade. Doesn't really matter if you were happy or not. Everything I wrote in the 6th grade was awful!

to vent frustration, i think it's like a window from their problems and some ppl like to express themselves on paper rather than complain to the world. maybe they have no one that will listen.

sometimes those "awful" poems are what gets a person by

i'm sorry but when i was sad i wrote beautiful poems

Because when you're sad you're completely self absorbed and your poems are a desperate cry for help.

its not that sad people write bad poems.... its just when they do write them they are in a diffrent state of mine and we dont understand them as well.... writing comes from within you. what you feel is what you write about.

to let their feelings out. I guess they are so sad that they can't think of anything good to write because they are too busy being emotional....

sad people write poems because there depressed it might be a way to get there mind off of it

hope this anwser helped :)

heremeow is completely correct. you should give her best-answer

not all sad people write poems. and phycologists say that it helps to write down you're feelings.

I have to disagree with you dear, though not all sad people have the talent for writing poetry, do you realize how many of our greatest poets suffered from depression??, all great artists have baggage, thats what makes their stuff so great, its art imitating life.

sad people write poems in sad mood so when u r in sad mood that time only u read that poems then u feel right meaning.

when one is sad the poems that come out of them are amazing. so much passion. I love them

it's a good way for them to get out their emotions without regrets. :)

because they are sad

William Wordsworth believed that good poetry was the expression of powerful emotion recollected in tranquility. In other words, a poet needs some distance from her strong feelings in order to capture them in an artful way. Think about it - when you're sad, you're completely preoccupied with your feelings. You aren't thinking about rhythm, word choice, analogies, or any of the very deliberate craftsmanship that is the hallmark of truly great writing.

It seems like some believe that they can be poets just because they happen to be emotionally volatile. Sylvia Plath was emotionally volatile, too, but she was also an artist in the most calculating sense. While her verse was inspired by her incredibly powerful feelings, she crafted the lines with great precision and care.

Because real life is what makes a great poem. I write about my life... here's a poem i wrote:
Focus

I want to be happy
Not only for myself, but for the people so close
It’s hard not being envious
Even miserable
When I write, I come to life
Letting go of all my despair
And opening my soul
I write for the people I love
Or, the person I love the most
He wants me happy,
He wants me to be me
Well, depressing is me
Only on paper
My writing is a candle
Burning intensively to a scorching passion
It will die, only to become a glow in the night
And I know it
I just have to accept it
It’s not as if I don’t have people to write for
It just makes me sad too
Even if I focus on the sad
I can’t focus

NEVER!!! This is when they are able to write soooooooooooo much better, perhaps cuz u were younger!!!
