If you're really interested in getting legitimate publications, go to www.duotrope.com. They have a comprehensive list of literary magazines and journals that you can send to, and you can sort through those magazines by how they're published and how you submit your work to them (electronic filing vs. snail mail). The most important thing you can do to get published in these magazines and journals is to read the poetry they publish and try to submit poems you've written that seem to fall into that category. Publication is all about the personal tastes of the editor, so if you send to the places that fit your style you have a better chance of getting in. Good luck! Hope it works out well for you!
