Question:Shrugged?

The man asks not
for Gods have judged
His role reversed
from skyward realms

Penance for past undones.

Shoulder he the weight of skies
shoulder he the weight of earth
the world shall know him now,
A Titan?
Men call him... Atlas

I agree, the Atlas was not needed, it's actually pretty much like naming a picture of Abraham Lincoln, "Abraham Lincoln." Kind of unnecessary. The gentle nod to Miss Rand was nice though.

Not a bad start. Definitely not a bad theme. However, "undones" does not sit well with me. How about: "Penance for a past undone." I really can't make any more critiques. It is definitely a pleasant poem.

Wonder? I am hoping the masses can think of his name. Lest we forget what a book of maps is called.

I like it. You did not need to name him at the end. Let us wonder about it. TD

Atlas Shrugged. Good poem. I liked that he was named - it ties in and reinforces the title.

From what's going on here on Earth, I think he's ready to shrug again. CNN reports that there's an actual group in training to go to Mars. Target date: 2050. That's a bit too late for the poets.
