Position:Home>Poetry> Do you sometimes feel like you are an undelivered parcel?

Question:The Parcel
By Philip Franklin

The parcel had been waiting
For many a dismal year
It was covered in dust and its brown paper
Told the story of its despair

It was waiting for the postmen
To deliver it to its possessor
But it just kept coming back
Marked return to sender

Maybe today, the parcel thought
The postman will find a match
Maybe today he might find
The parcels perfect catch

But I have given up on the postman
So I will sit here gathering dust; and wonder
Why is it my destiny
To be marked, return to sender.

Good 'un

I realize now this is exactly how I feel sometimes. Thanks for giving it a name.

Yes. But maybe the parcel has to learn to be patient. And it might don't be returned to sender.
Nice poem.
