Help with metaphor poem!?

Question:I need help with making an extended metaphor poem.
Info:
It has to be 8 lines
It has to be compared to a non-living thing to an animal.
No too complex-words please!

NB: This is NOT homework help. I need an idea of what a good extended metaphor is.

This is an example (on the fly); I have maintained the metaphor that the wind is a lion. Then I have described what the lion has accomplished by its tearing and slamming trees into the house, with the metaphor of claws.

The wind is a roaring lion
whose teeth gnash the trees
and yank them from the ground
with the strongest jaws in the jungle.

The door is closed and locked,
but its claws make deep gashes in
the wood and tree trunks slam
into the door and rake the oak.
