Position:Home>Poetry> Restart the race?

Question:I have read poems of fear and of anger,
Prose of loneliness, sorrow and woe.
From folk who’s lives are in danger,
Some in desperation with nowhere to go.

There are those out there longing for love,
The divorced, betrayed and those forlorn,
Feeling deserted with no help from above.
All is darkness with no sign of a dawn.

There is always a faint light on the horizon,
Hope may be gained by knowing this.
Have faith you submitter of woeful poem,
For your lives are not yours they are His.

Let not your fear, your trembling anger,
Your loneliness your sorrow and woe
Press down like an unwelcome stranger,
Restart life’s race with a ready, steady and GO.

You have an excellent talent for meter and rhyme. I also like the content of this poem; a poem about poetry, poets and hope. This is an unusual theme, very well done.

I like this. It has hope in it. I think I would like to restart my race.

This is good. Please read my bio. ME

Yes, Martian all the way. Don't listen to the Major, he's daffy...
The true story is in my bio. TD

TD...are not we all daffy? (Who is that masked man?)

Robert, loved the "ready, steady", and I always look for that
"faint light" at the end of my journey.

Good poem, technically and subjectively. I enjoyed reading it, and hope to see more. As for me, my race is probably nearing it's end, for I have passed the midpoint and am headed back to where I began. That is unless I make it to 124 or more, which is unlikely. In any event, I am running a good race and am happy with most aspects of it, so it's ready, steady, and continue for me.
