Position:Home>Poetry> How about my Mars Haiku?

Question:Mars beckons to us,
impatient for his poets,
soon we will be there.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Mars beckons to us,
impatient for his poets,
soon we will be there.

I like your Haiku. It tells a story in very few words, and it works as well if the reader perceives Mars as the god of war, waiting for poets to chronicle his exploits, or if the reader sees the image of the glowing planet in the sky, worthy of the attention of poets.

If you are open to a small suggestion, consider using a capital S in soon, and adding a comma after that word.

"Soon, we will be there."

Well done!

Love the beckoning!
I have acrophobia!
Watching you take off!

I've read so many Haikus lately and, surprisingly, I've enjoyed them. I like the sense of duality I get from Mars. Not just the planet, but the God of War beckons. Very nice.

So what gender are we giving to Mars? Don't want to start any gender wars with the Martian poets!

Lovely.

nice one Elaine......
and i too can hear the call...but the funny thing is that i am already there...selling fruits in Mars...

I'm going to have to pass. I must have a blind spot.
Haikus are not doing it for me. Sorry

how and why are the words 4 it.

how about
no its not made to be wrote about
but cure that use with doubt
and of the place that i speak
rockets are not 4 the meek
and if a treat it might be
close it is so easy to see
their are no amusments there
so why do we really care

any opinions do share

Mars has called up all the nerds,
Who thrive on interesting words.
Appreciated by others, we will never be
Except among ourselves, like you and me.

One of the very few that I have seen that actually say something in 17 syllables. I enjoyed it., and yes, Mars must be a male, for in the days when names were being given, only males were allowed to plan and fight in wars.

Yes, he calls us - we answer.

Love it
