Question:Without Changing What Is…

Love for his wife steadfast and pure
Committed to family but he yearns to know
He never before met a girl such as her
Would she be his, if what is wasn’t so?

He can’t ignore them, his feelings are true
Longing not felt since courting his wife
Completely one sided or alive in her too?
No way to know, his source of great strife.

With hope he anticipates each interaction
Heartbroken, never to know her embrace
Would she confirm she feels this attraction?
Words, once spoken, cannot be erased

Jealousy hidden when others admire
Wishing to feel the touch of her hand
Secretly hoping she feels his desire
Fixation, Frustration, Temptation withstand

He might put to rest, this desire of his
To just know what if, without changing what is

This is an amazing glimpse into a mind where we don't venture too often. I love the hesitancy of the thought, the tremulous longing to discover and to see if truth is true or merely relative and hardly relevant. Does she feel the same? And the ending sentiment is stunning. I am...frankly, in awe. Your rhyme is flawless and your rhythm, at least to my ears, is the same. And the line "Fixation, Frustration, Temptation withstand." BRILLIANT!
I have a lot to think about now...it will probably change what is.

this guy has a lot to offer, but somehow, he just cant speak out his feelings.

why dont you help him?
