Though the sun may shine on my face,
people are good to me, and the world smiles upon me,
I still feel out of place.

Like a bird in the sky
my heart flies high. High or far,longing to be
anywhere but here.

Like the horse and the eagle,
my mind and soul unite.
Finally deciding on what they want.
They both long to be free.

The world can try all they want,
but they can't take me.
I'm all ready who I want to be.

Though my feet stand here,
my thoughts are always far from near.

At least I know that someday I will fly
With the eagle and the horse
And not grow weary.

But for now, I must try and be content
In this bitter sweet world, feeling out of place,
For I'm happy to have this warm sun
to shine upon my face.

Interesting, I like your poem, it is quite unique. I understand what you mean, sometimes I feel that way too. Sometimes things get too boring and you want to have something like a magical power to change something or just be somewhere else. I think you should extend your poem and write about the place where you want to be a little more, but I think it's really good! :)

Great poem, it might even be good as a song... I dunno, I mean, as a lyricist, I think all poetry can be songs. A bit melancholy or depressed, but otherwise it's fine.

Beautiful. I really like this poem. Sometimes I feel out of place too. I long for the sun to shine on me but in a place where I'm accepted for who I am not in a place where people look at me like I'm weird. I've sat in cafes and written poetry and drank coffee.
