Question:A soldier fights for the U.S. of A
A struggle to rise and begin a new day
He shouldn’t be there, but knows that he must
He’s worried and scared, in God he must trust
He wants to go back, though he knows that he shouldn’t
His friend said don’t leave him ,so he told him he wouldn’t
Then he is struck, his own wedding he‘ll miss
He risked it all, and it ended like this.

A woman is crying, and sitting alone
If he died there and left, then she’d be all alone
She’d have to forget, all the plans they had made.
Of children, and homes, and a white picket fence
He’d left ,said goodbye, she hadn’t heard from him since
There’s still hope she cries out, ‘cause they haven’t come yet
Then she calmed herself down, he wouldn’t want her to fret
Soon enough two strangers will arrive at her door
Telling her how he died, fighting this war.

What a wonderful way to express your thoughts and suffering. It is written well and very understandable. You have touched many lives with this poem. I also wrote poetry when I lost my love one to an illness. God bless you.

Hi,
This is powerful. Thank you.
