Do you think the elves will drink tea?

Question:There was a young elf in my kitchen
Who was famous for his brand of *itchin...
"Coffee's too weak...coffee's too strong."
When midnight elves sang,he couldn't sing along.

(asleep from no caffeine)

The very next morn, I decided to stray.
Tossed the grounds, then put in Earl Gray.
Two cups of that...my house was clean...
Moving so fast, he never was seen.

(ZING! Too much caffeine)

Every elf was delighted!
Till the very NEXT sunrise.
They woke the roosters!
Of course...me...no surprise!

"Coffee! Coffee! Where's the brew?"
"There's caffeine in tea. Try it. It's new."
"We're used to coffee! Yours, and it's free!"
"Look, ya weasels! 'Free' is history!"

"Do some work, or
Hell to pay!
From now on....
It'll be Earl Gray!"

I absolutely loved this. It is so playful - it started like a Limerick but soon strayed away.( Do you know I must be amongst the innocents - I really had to think hard what the asterisked word was!)

I always enjoy poems which stray from the conventional subjects and this, of course, is one.

but coffee only for me will do,
the caffeine zing
and dark black taste
on me Earl Grey tea
is a waste.

I like it. The use of elves is a nice touch but they can be use for everything. I thought they drank chamomile or dandelion teas.
When you talk of tea try spiced chia served Indian style, East Indian.

( I once conjured up a goblin in a virtual pub by mistake. I was slurring my words a bit. Instead of a goblet of mead - I got a goblin with a collecting tin - a goblin in need!

Extraordinary elves for extraordinary tea/coffee.If they do their chores, give them herbal tea.

Elves are strange creatures. Most of them hate tea, but if you should put in a little Irish Whiskey, they'll drink it all, and beg to work for more.

The elves themselves will stray away
from what is known to them as Earl Gray
But to me for sure I'll giggle with glee
for a cup of warm or cold good ole tea.......
