Question:From the cards

KNIGHT OF CUPS

Controlled
by desire.
The world over
will I search
to find the one
whose name is whispered
by the wind.

You may find me
naive,
but I will be
devoted.

If I ask you
for your heart,
know that I
will keep it
safe.

Evadne - here you go again, making it look so simple

I read the earnest love poety issuing from the fledglings in the nest and they try so hard but are no way near as successful as this. I hope they read, mark, learn and inwardly digest - as my old Chemistry teacher used to say.

Less is more, as they say.
Thank you

The word desire can--I say can, not necessarily does--carry a connotation of obsession, almost to the point of narcissism. This is not the meaning you are intending here, obviously. I mention this not to have you change it, just to tread carefully with the word, it is one of great power and may--I only say may--not belong.

Loved the closing stanza, sentimental to the point of nausea that it is, it works.

Is it naively you search or desire? Another small gem from you arsenal. I like.

I like it. I think "desire" works in it because you are using it to describe you wanting something very passionately. I like this poem a lot...good job!

Your love
is understated,
more like
oceans swelling,
over the
boundaries
of what is deemed
propriety.

Damn the older, wiser.
Live, love
in the now.

Ah, this is the quintessence of Romanticism. And to think that I read this immediately after writing some verses about cheese!

thats more sensual than water in a desert.

but there must be something special
about that heart for one to surrender all.
what a comforting thing to hear if you get to.
