This poem has 'Ogden Nash' written all over it. I have a book of his works,but i cant find it.

Sounds like some sort of early nursery rhyme, I've never personally heard of it, but a lot of the Victorian illustrated printed books had poems/stories in which 'scary tales' were normal as bed-time reading for young children.

All the best Grandads leave us with these questions over what they have said and done! Mine had a scar on his leg which he told me he got fighting off a crocodile in the Nile! It was only when childhood had turned to youth that it became clear to me that he had a cyst removed and the scar was the result of that. No harm done but a great character! In your case I suspect this is famous, written by your grandfather and published worldwide by Yahoo Answers and therefore read and enjoyed by thousands of people. It gave me a great start to my day anyway! Cherish it, and the memory of your Grandfather.
