“Be As You Are”
Brittany Evanko

When I close my eyes I see that perfect place.
Where I am out of sight without a trace
It might be on the crashing waves of the ocean
With each wave crashing with such emotion

The oceans’ seas have many different faces.
I always wanted to be in one of those places
To live somewhere that I can lay in the grass.
The sun sets, it is like everything is shimmering with glass.

When the sun sets with colors of pink, orange, and yellow
I want to go where everything can be mellow.
No fighting, just peaceful surroundings, gazing at the stars.
Not needing to be anyone else, just to be as you are.

I want to have someone there with me to enjoy
One who will be there for me, not destroy.
Living life for all it is worth and much more.
I will finally feel like I did years before.

Yes, writing poetry is fun, peaceful, and can be 'hair-tearing time'!
Your poem has very good, developed images and place in time. If you wish, make it a bit 'tighter' by taking out some words, that really aren't necessary to your meaning here.
You're GOOD! Certain of that one!

I like to write poems. This one is good. You have a nice feel for rhyme and rhythm. TD

The Ringwraith’s Tea Party

The Ringwraiths were going to a party at ten,
Tea and biscuits from a man called Ben.

When they arrived no-one was in,
Their host would be punished for this deadly sin.

Why invite them and not be there?
Was it for a stupid dare?

‘Oh wait! What’s this?’ The leader yells,
A note, from a consortium of Hobbit Cartels?!

Our new friend Ben has been abducted,
Through this vile plan those midgets constructed.

A rescue, the Ringwraiths began to devise,
And gathered together their closest allies.

Sauron, the Orcs and Saruman the White,
They were all prepared for this epic fight.

The armies began to march with haste,
Towards the shire and Frodo’s base.

For that was the name of the consortium’s boss,
A most vicious fellow that I ever did cross.

Wouldn’t shut up about some stupid ring,
He seemed to think that Ben had this thing!

Enough was enough; we had to fight back,
Stop giving these creatures so much bloody slack.

The Ringwraiths, all nine, marched up to the door,
And kicked it down till it lay on the floor.

‘WHERE IS MY FRIEND’ one started to shout,
Frodo just pointed, then looked all about.

Ben was no longer tied to the chair,
He’d jumped out the window and soared through the air.

He hit the ground with a sickening crunch,
Caused Gandalf to throw up his breakfast and lunch.

Ben was dead, the party was off,
They glared at Frodo who started to cough.

‘Would you like to come in for a cup of my tea?
It’s very nice and hot as can be.’

So that’s how the Ringwraiths forgot about Ben,
And went to his tea parties never again!

Sky Colors:
When there is a sunrise,
the colors are like a reddish orange.
A person can see this with their eyes,
this beauty is not so strange.

If the sky is blue,
it might be clear,
or if there are clouds, there would be afew,
whether they are far or near.

For skies that are grey,
very often it would rain,
if this happens, it could be a bad day,
it can ruin plans again and again.

After a sunny day,
the clouds( if any ) take on a pink look, going west
here is what else you get
ready for a sunset.

As the sky gets dark its black,
this is when its night
as one would hit the sack
think of this as a sleeper's delight

This is a very nice poem, quite peaceful and relaxing. Very well done. Yes I like to write poems, to read some go to www.midnightchase.net Now that is just a few but you can always ask to see more if you like what you see there.

Yep....I write a little....not much, but here's one I just wrote a couple months ago.

What am I doing here?
I don't really belong here.
I don't fit in, and I fall so often.
Why don't I just stay where I fall?
Is there any point to get back up?
Just leave me here, alone in my shame,
Where no one can see me.
Why can't I do this...
I know I should be able to stand on my own two feet.
I feel so awkward around everyone.
Why don't I just quit?-It's just two simple words.
But I just can't say that I quit.

Then I look up and know why I keep going.
You smile at me and cheer my name.
I get back up from my knees and stand...
I stand strong in the light of your encouragement and
friendship.
Every time I see your smile and hear your voice, my soul and
heart start to soar.

Maybe you could help me come up with a title?
