Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: " There are raindrops on roses and/or no girls in white dresses" I've been seeing that a lot lately and I actually have no idea what its supposed to mean. Figuratively, that is. OK, if looking for hidden meanings, this is what I could attribute: raindrops maybe mean tears, roses are signs of beauty and love, so there's some sadness/sorrow related to loving someone. and also some sort of regret: white is sign of innocence and there are no innocent girls there. maybe a woman disappointed him? (i'm just guessin', don't take my word for it) It looks like a jumbled pair of partial lyrics from the Rodgers & Hammerstein song in Sound of Music, linked by a senseless conjunction (and/or). In their original context they were simple items in a list and this particular jumble has no particular meaning. Uhh. Never heard tht one. but it does sound like I heard those words in a song. . . I can't remember the name. Unfortunately I don't know what it means. Check google.com It's from the song "My Favorite Things" from the Sound of Music: Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of my favorite things Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings These are a few of my favorite things Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes Silver white winters that melt into springs These are a few of my favorite things When the dog bites When the bee stings When I'm feeling sad I simply remember my favorite things And then I don't feel so bad Well the Dress in white signifies virginity, when a woman doesn't wear a white dress at her wedding it means that she isn't pure physically, and the rain drops signify an unsettled feeling but upon a rose this would simply mean that the girls are not feeling/being loved because they are un-pure physically, maybe even spiritually. This is the original from the sound of music movie and it is called " my favourite things" : Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of my favorite things Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings These are a few of my favorite things Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes Silver white winters that melt into springs These are a few of my favorite things When the dog bites When the bee stings When I'm feeling sad I simply remember my favorite things And then I don't feel so bad |
