Question:Buttercups

Your death was one,
That devastated the world,
And I hate the way,
All the events unfurled.
I gazed into your coffin,
And held back my cries,
As I looked once more,
Into your soft grey eyes.
The dawn is breaking,
And in the sun's light,
I stand in mourning,
As a raven takes flight.
These cuts on my wrist,
Never seem to heal,
Because ever since you left me,
I simply cannot feel.
Pain does not effect me,
reality is slipping away.
I feel closer and closer to insanity,
Each and every day.
I love you very much,
And I'm sure I'll see you soon,
I'll be back here tonight,
During the full moon.
Butterflies of blue,
Seem to lose their flight,
Because you aren't here,
To give them all their might.
Buttercups of Yellow,
Now fade to black,
Because of the simple reason,
That we can never have you back.

wow. This is another really good poem. This poem really hit the spot. =). It has a lot of depth to it also, and it makes me want to read a lot more poems by you. You should get them published. Like on Poetry.com or something. You're really good at writing and I think you have talent. And what it takes to become a good poet by all means. Good luck on your next poem! Very intense! Very emotional! But I get creeped out by cutting. Don't get me wrong, your poem is excellent! I mean top notch, but it makes my skin crawl to read about someone cutting themself.

Excellent, I really enjoyed this poem, even with its seemingly underlying morbid tone.

sad poems are so heart felt. everyone has been exposed to pain. the poem is well written. i just wish young people would not take life as if it's over before it begins.

This is lovely and you completely took me to a place of quiet emptiness and private mourning, the indescribable moments in time when someone has left us and our world stands still.
