Question:Un-United States
Written by Semper Fi Reborn

E Pluribus Unim
Out of many, one
Not one ruling out many
Casting aside dreams
Muting voices
Who assassinated hope?
Was it you?

Semper Fidelis
Always Faithful
The motto of every Marine
The creed of every Brother or Sister in arms
That fight, bleed, and die
For us
Sacrifice their bodies
For us
Come home in coffins
For us
Americans
They stand united
They fall united
And all their blood is red

How can you damn my America?
How can you ignore the winds of change?
My family is dying in the sand
Cheney says "So what"?
Wright says "Damn America"?
I say "Unite"
Change and heal your people
Change and heal our land
Change and repair our relationships
From within
Let us begin
To Unite
The Un-United

the un-united.
Bless you, Semper Fi Reborn,
and thank you for this Q :)

Keep carrying on -
you are such an
example to me
of What Jesus
Would Do in this
given situation.

Thanks again.

I think this is perhaps
one of your most
powerful endings
that I've come across
yet.
:)

I don't like your poem, but I agree with the message you're trying to present. Will I pass it on? probably not. I think I'll create my own poem with the same theme and I'll post it on here in a couple days, maybe one of ours will be passed along.

~sig~
7 days without soccer makes one weak

Yes, it has a great deal of meaning. If we don't stand for something (our country) we'll fall (for anything)

Thoughtful title and a massage quite put together.
I am not an American but I adore your spirit of unity.

ok... i like the message

I feel like you - in regards to your powerful poem. But, I'm becoming more pessimistic as I age, and I'm an optimistic person by nature if that makes sense. I do hope there will be change.

Very beautiful and very true and VERY close to my heart.
Thanks for sharing! (((SEMPER)))

Hi Semper:I really liked that one and agree with it 100 percent. Keep up the good work. God Bless.

I love it...Thanks.

You've got it! Yes, I'll share.

Thanks again for being inspirational.

Flowers.

You are right but, like a John Lennon, you are a dreamer. I wish this was not the case, but, sadly, believe it is. Still, keep trying, your poem is a hopeful if dimming beacon.

great job....i dont think people are saying so what....can we also unite the world..no more proverty, no more hitlers and husseins..once we forget and ignore we are no more healed with-in than we were when we tried to ignore hitler..would the Lord really want us to live the good life while others suffers..

Semper Fi Reborn,

My hat is off to you. God has given you such a wonderful talent. Use it well.

I sure will pass it on to others.

God bless you brother

Well done! I will pass it along. There are many issues and many people looking to divide us, at home and abroad. We cannot let this election, this war, this world tear us apart.

God Bless!

That is a wonderful and powerful poem. I know it's unpopular to patriotic during this time, but it seems like some people are so blind and wrapped up in their hate that they are not willing to hear your words. It's a wonderful poem about coming together to create unity, change, healing, and rebuilding relationships. I'm all for it and I will share it with others.

I loved it so much Semper Fi and you always write nice and write the truth what it may be.This one is so sad as there are so many dieing and like the big wigs in washing ton D C SAY SO WHAT' .How many members of their family's are fighting and dieing in this war..God Bless you Semper Fi i love it all the way.

I now stand up and applaud you. This one is so good I would have thought it was something out of a Marine Corp handbook or something!!!! This one exemplifies what poetry is supposed to do!!! It made me want to stand up, place my hand over my heart and stand proud!! Be one of the few, the proud, the Marines!!
You are a poet by any means Semper Fi!!! This one took me home and back as a Vet!!!

Perhaps I will vote for you this fall! :o)

Yes, I will pass your poem on. Especially to those who send me lots of forwards regarding the war in Iraq and other political emails.

Thank you for your patriotism!

I like it a great deal. Keep writing. Everyone will not like your work but don't let that stop you. Shoot for the stars. You might land on the moon.

No. It's crap.
