Question:On a blue jean August day
Under the picnic trees
I remember-
How relaxed I felt in the cool grass,
Your bare legs across my lap,
Watching your toes scrunch
And the sunlight get caught in your hair.

I remember-
How you jumped in the fishin' hole
And surfaced-
Water streaming from your long blonde hair.
You laughed at me and just shook your head.

I remember-
We gigged a bullfrog that day.
We giggled as he squirmed free
And then silently waved our goodbyes
Before dancing on the muddy bank.

I remember-
Swinging you in that rusty ole tire.
I near got sickness
I was so dizzy with love.

I remember-
Kissing you softly on the shaded ground.
I never knew
Your fingertips could do so much.

The memories flood my mind like a million fragrances,
But still I don't remember-
Seeing the sun go down.

These images are so joyous and have such authentic depth that the poem is a true pleasure to read, over and over. I would have to copy the whole poem to list my favorite parts because I love all of it. The ending keeps it alive forever. You have such a gift. Thank you.

Very nice, especially liked the line "I never knew your fingertips could do so much." Could almost feel the gentle graze of a girlfriend, back in the time of summers, and dizziness and innocence.

Ah, sweet times remembered. Thank you!

Beautiful Swoosh. "the sunlight caught in your hair" and "never knew your fingertips could do so much" are my favorites.

I wish our lazy hazy summer days would hurry up and get here (sigh)

Another amazing one..how did you get so deep, so young? I'm intrigued.
My favorite lines.....blue jean August day......
...memories flood my mind like a million fragrances.

One line puzzles me....I never think of a tire as being rusty, frayed maybe, (like me:), but not rusty.
Think I'll just daydream for awhile and be the blonde in the swing.

Swoosh is good. I hope he pursues writing. It only took me 50 years to make a go of it...

Brilliant beginning, then I lost you for a while (or should that be you lost me!) the bullfrog - I don't know what 'gigged' means and it is too close to 'giggled' altho' I'm sure you intended it to be. Did you wave to the bullfrog, or to each other? If you've waved 'goodbye' why are you dancing on the bank?
Then, blow me down, the poem takes off again and reaches sublime heights. Loved it.
