It is sad and you are able to describe eloquently what happens when love is lost between a couple. It something that we never desire or bargain for but happens when both parties forget what sparked their interest and brought them together to begin with .
If only the warmth of their memories,their caresses and their love could suffice in unifying and solidifying their bond forever, life could be so much better.
