write about life & death; about how you realise the smallest things in life are the ones never realized; write about how ur mum loves you unconditionally & whether you could replicate a fraction of it; write about what you think will happen when we die;is it another life or is it over; is it that simple or is there a bigger picture that we are missing out on; write about Gods and Aliens ! !
start writing, good luck !
let me know when you win !

just let the poem write itself, u cant force these things.

Write about love or something,
If you know alot about one subject that would help.
I would write about how God is Love

Try something quite different,like... something about some recent problems which has caught the attention of the world or some weird news which has caught your attention recently.Environmental problems like plastic pollution, global warming can also be brought into the topic provided u try a different approach.

Don't write about love, or life and death, or recent events, because everybody will be doing that and you'll get lost in the crowd.

Think of the most magical moment in your life or imagination, now write a poem alluding to it, not describing it exactly, just hinting at it so the reader can fill in the blanks.

This will set your work apart and will get you notice rather than "Oh, look, another 'no one has ever felt this way before' poem"

here's a first line to get started with,
staring blankly into the abyss.......

finish it then email me the results!

A good way to start on a poem and you are stuck is to look up on iTunes instrumental music(music with no words). Then by random choice pick a song without listening to it first. Close you eyes and pick a song. Listen to the rhythm and the mood of the song. What does it remind you of? Any movies or real experiences. After you listen to it once or twice write down a word, a sentence, and then another sentence. at random put them into a good order. Put more words or sentences in between the sentences to make it make sense. Then you would have a pretty good poem. It is hard to explain by words. If you don't understand it I'm sorry, but if you do, it is a good method to use.
