Langston Hughes is pointing out the injustice of bigotry in America. They work hard as well. He is saying that their (the black man's) hard work is just as noteworthy as any other American's is. He envisions and promises a day when the black man is also valued as Americans and their hard work is recognized as an integral part of what makes America beautiful.
